About Us

Bridget E. Tovey., LPCC

My therapy philosophy: I view counseling as a collaborative process between the client and the therapist, with the client being the expert on their own lives. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to support my clients in achieving the goals they set for themselves.

My background and experience: I have experience working with adolescents in a residential treatment and hospital setting, working as a school-based mental health provider, providing counseling services in a university counseling center to undergraduate students, and working with clients ages 5 through 75 in an outpatient private practice setting.

Areas of clinical focus: I specialize in working with trauma, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, ADHD, school and behavioral concerns, stress and emotion management, life transitions, wellness and self-care, and family conflict.

Treatment approaches: I am certified to provide EMDR therapy through the Institude for Creative Mindfulness (ICM). I also rely on strategies from somatic based therapy approachs, CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing (MI) which form my therapeutic style and approach.

I am currently accepting clients who have daytime appointment availability (between the hours of 8am and 3pm) Monday through Thursday. Due to my current work schedule, please allow 2 business days for a reply.
